THE MERCY SEAT

Jesus Christ died on the cross for forgiveness of sins.

When you accept Christ as your Savior, All your sins

are forgiven - past sins, present sins, and future

sins.

Many hold a mistaken belief that only their

past sins have been forgiven. The Scripture clearly

says that "all trespasses" are forgiven.

If only our past sins were forgiven, then Jesus

would have to be crucified again for future sins.

ALL means all sins were forgiven at the cross.

"And you who were dead in trespasses and in the

uncircumcision of your flesh, God brought to life

together with Christ having freely forgiven us

ALL our transgressions. (Colossians 2:13 - Amplified

Bible)

To be clear, the scripture goes on to say not only have

all your sins been forgiven, but in verse 14, He, Christ,

has BLOTTED AND WIPED AWAY the note that accused

us in the first place and completely cleared it out of

our way, plus He went even further to say that HE, GOD,

disarmed the principalities and powers that ranged against

us by nailing those things to HIS CROSS.

The truth is that CHRIST has TRIUMPHED over ALL our

enemies.

Our sins are covered over by

Christ, WHO IS OUR MERCY SEAT. The Ark of the Covenant

contained three items: The stone tablets of the Ten

Commandments which all have failed to keep, Aaron's rod

which spoke of the people rejecting Aaron's leadership, and

the golden pot of manna which the people rejected calling

it "worthless bread." All of these speak of our sins and

rebellion against God.

On top was placed the MERCY SEAT which was the place

where the High Priest went into the Holy of Holies on the

Day of Atonement and placed the blood on the MERCY

SEAT. It hid our sins from God's eyes. All God could see

was the blood and not our sins.

God prefers mercy over judgment every time.
